Washed My Car And Now It Wont Start. It turn good, i changed the coil pack thinking it was the problem as i noticed it was cracked everything looks dry the spark plug and wires are new i do not know where to look. Some newer alternators are better sealed to handle the weather (and washing).

Yesterday afternoon i washed the car with my pressure washer and since doing so none of the electronics on the car work and it obviously won't start. What have you tried so far? Turns over fine and starts some times (with spitting and sputtering then cuts out) i know i got some thing wet when i sprayed my wheel.

Then i took it to the car wash to spray the mud off it and now it wont start. I'd get the battery and alternator tested as you may have damaged the relay on the alternator if you didn't cover it up with plastic before washing the engine.

Then remove each plug wire, dry the inside of the plug wires and especially down inside the spark plug wells with the hair dryer. It's less likely to cause this problem.

So i have actually put the meter in the oven for a couple of hours at like 160 degrees. If none are blown then we need to go to the starter relay and remove it in the same fuse box.

If it drops below 10v with the starter engaged, it's probably not going to be enough to get it going. Pop the hood and look to see if there’s a bunch of water all around.

If it doesn't start because you washed it, you probably wet part of the ignition system. If it drops below 10v with the starter engaged, it's probably not going to be enough to get it going. I have a 2006 b7 cabriolet 1.8t.
