Honda Civic Engine Bay Cleaning. First start out by completely covering all surfaces (including the under side of the hood itself) with p21s total auto wash. #2 · sep 24, 2009.

I was thinking of doing a wire tuck, painting it relocating the battery to the trunk, and putting the fuse box insice the passenger. Keep in mind, most of the engine bay. The spray degreaser (purple power brand, is my choice), and steam.

Leave the hood open and allow the engine bay to dry for 10 to 15 minutes. Spray the mother loving hell out of the engine bay with some simple green, or any other good degreaser. To make a long story short, my dealership spilled some hot coolant in my engine bay ( not a lot but enough to make my day pretty shitty).
How Do You Clean Your Engine Bay.
You can clean them with water and a rag, but avoid direct pressure washing imo. You will need to use the toothbrush to remove any dirt from these parts and wipe them with a rag. Avoid soaking your engine, you only need to rinse off all the degreaser.

I then use the garden hose to wash off everything keeping the engine running all the time. You do not need to use any pressure when rinsing. But for the best way to thoroughly clean your honda, you should wash it by hand, preferably in a shady spot.
1) Spray Degreaser All Over Engine Bay And Let Sit For 5 Or So Minutes.

2) Use Various Brushes To Agitate.
Detach your wires from the engine bay and run them through the hole in the fire wall. Continue to let it dry for another 10 minutes. So now i can smell a faint hint of coolant whenever around the front of the car.
